When you ask questions sometimes you get a whole answer of HOB's and AIL's. What the heck does this mean? Well the list that follows are a bunch of the regular ones that are used.
General Acronyms:
AIL: Indian Almond Leaf
BWE: black Water Extract
DIY: Do it Yourself
DNTMT: Do Not Touch My Tanks (LOL)
G or GAL: Gallon
GPH: Gallons per Hour
HOB: Hang on Back Filter
HOT: Hang in Tank Filter
IBC: International Betta Congress
LFS: local fish or pet store
MTS: Multi Tank Syndrome or Malaysian Trumpet Snails
RO: Reverse osmosis
PoR: A person who begs his/her partner for more tanks - Comes fter MTS sets in...
PWC: Partial Water Change
QT: quarantine
SIP: Swim In Peace
UGF: Undergravel Filter
UV: ultra violet
WC: Water Change
Chemical Acronyms:
AM or NH4: Ammonia
CA: Calcium
CO2: Carbon Dioxide
CU: Copper
FE: Iron
NO2: Nitrite
NO3: Nitrate
O2: Oxygen
Betta Acronyms:
BF: Butterfly Betta
CT: Crown Tail Betta
DT or DBT: Double Tail Betta
DeT: Delta Tail Betta (sometimes put as DT as well)
HM: Half Moon Betta
PK: Plaket Betta
VT: Veil Tail Betta
ST: Single Tail
If you see a bunch of letters like this it's combining two or more acronyms. PKHM would work out to a plaket halfmoon.

CAE: Chinese Algae Eater
Cory Cat: corydora catfish
Oto Cat: otocinclus catfish
Pleco or Plec: plecostomus catfish
SAE: Siamese Algae Eater

GSA: Green Spot Algae

Nano: really small - It generally refers to a tank that's under 10 gallons in size.
Aquascape or Aquascaping: Generally refers to a tank that is live planted. It is referred to like this because it's a bit like landscaping underwater.
