When Babies first hatch they are the size of a pin head. What does that mean? It means that they can't eat what mom and dad eats. It also means that what ever your deciding to feed needs to be alive for best fry health. There are some non-living foods that you can feed but most fry won't even acknowledge that it's edible unless it's moving.
Fry food usually starts with eggs or cultures. Both take a few days to hatch or grow to a eatable size to feed. This is why it's the first item on your mind with considering breeding. You have roughly 5 days from the time the spawning starts to time to feed.
Types of food to consider Micro-worms* Vinegar Eels* Baby Brine Shrimp** Baby white worms* Baby Grindals* Infusoria* *Culture Must be established **Hatched from eggs

I have found Microworms to be an excellent fry food. I didn't understand just how small they were until I got my culture. All of my fish love them, but they would be the perfect size for babies!

Micro-worms use to be my favorite until I ended up with ventless fry.. and with more research if they are fed to fry for to long it can case this problem.. so I mix it up.. but rumor is that they are not enough nutrition..
